Language Testing & Certification
Oui, je parle français !
One way to beef up your CV and articulate your skills for potential employers is to take a test to certify your foreign language proficiency. You can choose foreign language proficiency exams that certify your general skills in the language (e.g., DALF and TEF) and/or tests measuring your ability to use the language in specific professional settings (e.g., DFP AFFAIRES B2 and C1). For a more comprehensive list of tests available, explore the corresponding links in our "Language & Testing Certification" pull-down menu.

CEFR proficiency levels
Exams of this nature typically rank test takers according to the proficiency scale known as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) defined by the Council of Europe. This scale includes six levels arranged in three broad categories: basic (A1 and A2), intermediate (B1 and B2) and advanced (C1 and C2). The Council of Europe website provides a detailed description of each level, a self-assessment grid, and other information regarding the CEFR's scales of foreign language proficiency.
